Adobe Photoshop CS5 is here and they kept us tone mappers in mind this time around.  Adobe has improved their tone mapping process significantly.  If I were the Photomatix people I might be a tad bit worried about this.  Fortunately, the Photomatix people offer a much more affordable option than Adobe.

Adobe Photoshop CS5 is yet to be released, but Adobe is promising greater accuracy, speed, and control over your HDR tone mapping process.  They will also have a ghost removal option which sounds promising.

On a side note I wanted to mention that this is a huge step forward for HDR.  Adobe is world renowned in the field of photography.  Now that Adobe has put there step forward in recognizing that HDR is a worthwhile form of photography, maybe other photographers will begin to acknowledge HDR as a perfectly, respectable form of photography.
